Doll

Once a marionette doll rose by itself and stood still.

"Dance," a voice said but the doll didn't understand.

She didn't know what that meant. She only knew the way the puppeteer made her move.

"You're free," the voice said gently but the doll stood still.

She waited for the puppeteer to come and make her move, like he always did.

She didn't know how to dance on her own.




I've always been told what to do my whole life. Then they said "choose." And I didn't know what to do. They have always chosen everything for me. They made a puppet out of me. They still don't really want me to choose. They want to keep me on strings. Some days I just want to scream:

SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH, I'M DOING WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT
