I'm just warning you, if you haven't read my former GermanyXStepdaughter!Readers, you might freak out.
You woke up in the middle of the night to loud thunders and lightings that lit up your whole room. You sleepily reached your hand to the other side of the bed and realized disappointedly that the sheets were cold on the other side. You sat up and rubbed your eyes. It was 2 am and Ludwig was probably still in his study, doing paperwork, like always. You rarely had the time to talk to him those days and it made you sad that he also barely slept with you.
You looked outside for a few minutes, watching the trees being tortured by the strong wind and heavy rain, and after some time you were sure it started hailing too. You got out of bed and walked towards his study's room. You never wanted to disturb him, but God, you somehow needed him so badly then.
You hesitantly knocked on the door then opened it and entered the room. And there he was, leaning over the desk, supporting his head with one of his arms and with a pen in his other hand. He didn't seem to notice you soon, he slowly lifted his head up only after you took a few steps closer to him. He blinked tiredly.
"Oh? Did the storm wake you up?" "I woke up because there was a lack of presence of a certain German man beside me." You smiled as you walked up to him. "I'm sorry Liebe, I have so much to do and time is short." "Can't you just take a break?" "Not really, I-" But he was cut off by a gentle and long kiss on the lips, after you carefully slipped onto his lap and held his cheeks gently. He didn't resist a little bit and simply relaxed into the kiss as he pulled you closer by your waist.
"Just a few minutes, not much. Please?" You begged him, leaning your forehead against his. He glanced over the stack of papers and let out a long sigh. "Alright, but really not much." "Thank you!" You cheered and immediately held him tightly. He slowly stroked your back and rested his chin on your shoulder, when suddely the lights flickered then went out. You sat there in complete darkness.
There was a second of silence before you slowly sat up again and giggled, unlike Ludwig, who simply let out an annoyed groan. "Now I will never finish my work. What makes you so happy about it?" He rubbed your cheek as he talked. "I'm glad because you can talk to me now. We haven't had the time for such a long time, you know..." You curled up on his lap and listened to his strong heartbeat, which somehow sounded so reassuringly. "A very long time..." You whispered softly.
Soon you felt his hand slide up on your back and touch your head, so he could run his fingers through your hair, which made you feel so much calmer and safer, even though there was no danger he had to protect you from. "I'm really sorry, I would love to spend all my time with you but I can't. I also hate being so busy but there's nothing I can do about it."
You knew that he was perfectly right. "Yes, I know." You answered sadly. "But now's our chance." You brightened up and lifted your head up to look at him, even though you could see nothing in the dark. "Watch the storm with me." "Eh? What's so good about that?" "Just watch with me, please. I love storms at night. They are fun." You giggled. He sighed and stopped questioning you, you two got up and walked onto the corridor, to the closest window, hand in hand, and you just stood there in silence as you stared outside.
You could still see pieces of ice in the grass but you didn't hear the hail hitting the roof anymore and it still rained heavily, the thunders were not as loud as before but the lightings were still bright enough to light the house through the windows. You never knew why you liked storms so much but it never failed to amuse you.
Ludwig had his arms wrapped around your waist from behind and you leaned back against him. You absentmindedly placed your arms over his and entwined your fingers with his. It felt wonderful to be able to do this with him after so many days of barely talking or not even meeting. You had no idea where his mind could have been wandering, but you felt like this was the right moment to confess...
"Mm... Papa..." You mumbled. For a second he didn't even know what to do, he wasn't used to you calling him like that anymore. He held you tighter and leaned close to your face. "What? I thought you stopped calling me papa three years ago, after I came home from the war." "Yes, I stopped then." You smiled. "But." You slowly pulled his hand onto your tummy. "You will be called papa by someone else."
He just stood behind you, hand on your stomach, quietly and his breathing stopped for a long second. You just shocked him and you worriedly turned around slowly and looked up at him. "Umm?"
Thankfully before it got more uncomfortable, he suddenly pulled you even closer and held you tightly, then smashed his lips against yours. His actions making you relived, you wrapped your arms around his neck and hugged him back during the kiss and even longer. He didn't say anything, he only continued holding you so tightly.
You could hear his heart beating faster then the usual as he gently nuzzled your hair with a smile on his face.
