Felicia enjoyed men's attention but being harassed was a completely different matter. She had lost all her patience but the man continued following her even outside the cafe, making indecent offers and rude remarks in the worst broken German. She grew more frustrated by the minute but just before she would throw the plate she was carrying at him, Monika appeared and yanked the guy back by his shirt when he was about to touch her. He was surprised that anyone would physically restrain him from doing what he meant to do, especially because it was a woman to confront him. Monika played it cool, she raised her brow in a questioning way. The reckless man, failing to recognize her strenght, was about to take her down but in the end he was sent to the ground and held down by the soldier. At the same moment his friend rose to step into the fight but Luciano arrived just in time to convince him otherwise, with the charming smile of a psychopath and a perfectly sharped blade. That was the first time Monika was glad about Luciano's presence. They made sure the men left and Felicia could continue working safely.

The two of them stared at each other for a while, quietly, trying to read the other one's expression but neither of them succeeding. Have they just become allies? Luciano flashed his notorious cocky smile.

"I'll see you later," he said as he turned and walked away.

She wondered what he could have meant by later but she decided she had more important things to do than think about something he said. It was only the next evening when she had an unexpected guest.

Luciano was standing right at her door, hands in his pockets, his expression bored. She opened the door reluctantly.

"Isn't it a little late?" She asked.

He shrugged slowly and a smile spread on his lips.

"I'm a busy man. I came to talk."

"What do we have to talk about?" She asked coldly, raising her brow.

"Felicia. I came to express my appreciation for doing my work when I was unable to do it. Now, will you make us stand here for the night or can I come in?" He spoke in the sweetest tone he could, his features softening, after all he needed to find a way to get inside, if it was sweet talk then that's what he had to do.

She sighed.

"I'll let you in if you don't try to impress me with your knife tricks."

He laughed and handed her the knife he liked to play with.

"Just because you asked so nicely."

Without saying much, Monika stepped aside to let him in and he walked straight to the couch where after he sat down, he leaned back and sprawled out comfortably, making himself home without a care.

"Coffee?" She suggested, her voice giving her away, she wasn't at all amused at his actions.

"Nothing beats Italian coffee," he smiled and lazily turned his head to look at her. "But I accept it."

She left without a word then soon came back with a two cups of coffee and placed one on the table for him before she sat on the other end of the couch and for the first time she wished she had more furniture so she wouldn't have to sit so close to him. She turned to face him and leaned back as well, slowly stirring her coffee.

"I hope you won't fall asleep now," she mumbled.

"You must forgive me, I haven't had much sleep lately," he reached for his cup with a smug smile on his face and sipped the hot drink slowly.

"So what did you want to say?" Monika tried to get to the point, hoping to send him on his way soon.

His smile faded and lowered the cup from his lips.

"Feliciana is really important to me. And I truly appreciate the fact that you were willing to protect her."

"I thought it was just natural, no need to get all emotional over this."

He laughed.

"How rude! I didn't come here to praise you."

"Then what?" She lifted her cup to her lips.

"I came to offer a kind of alliance," he made a gesture with his hand. "I don't want to be enemies, I just want to make sure she's safe and you can help me with that."

"I've never had an intention of becoming your enemy."

"Clearly. But how about taking it one step further? I can't offer my friendship, since neither of us would have good use of that but we could be... acquaintances?" He leaned his cheek into his palm and looked at her.

"Why?" She asked bluntly.

"Because we have the same interests," he smirked "and because I also find you very interesting. I wonder what you're hiding under that mask. What makes you so hostile. What you're afraid of. I want to know you better." He slowly reached out to touch her face but before he could do that she suddenly got up.

"I'll wash my cup," she mumbled and walked to the kitchen.

She thought he wouldn't follow her but she was wrong. He stood on the doorstep and casually leaned against the door frame, crossing his arms as he watched her.

"What's wrong? Don't tell me I scared you."

She couldn't even reply properly, nor did she feel the need to.

"Are we done talking?"

"I honestly hoped there would be more." He straightened up and walked to her slowly.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you then." She didn't even look at him, just continued mindlessly rinsing the cup, absolutely uncomfortable in this situation.

"Don't run away from me." He said softly as he stepped behind her and placed his hand on her hip. She tensed up immediately and closed the tap.

"Don't touch me," she warned him but it didn't come off as it was supposed to since her voice shook and he couldn't not notice that.

"And what if I do?" He chuckled, truly wondering what happened if he'd continue pushing her and slowly wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Let me go."

"I don't want to."

That was when she lost her patience.

"I said let me go!"

She swiftly turned around, raising her fist to punch him. But much to her surprise, she could not deliver it. He was faster than she expected him to be, he grabbed her wrist firmly and pulled her towards himself, at the same time he put his foot next to hers, tripping her and making her fall on the floor. The next thing she knew was that Luciano was pinning her down, holding her wrists tightly. She definitely didn't expect him to be able to do this, she had underestimated him badly. He laughed.

"You surprised me. You're a lot more interesting than I thought, cara."

"What do you want?" She growled. She felt utterly humiliated for getting beaten this easily by an arrogant kid and she already knew damn well she would make him pay for this.

"You," he smirked and slowly leant down to press his lips against hers.

She simply froze. Her eyes widened as a cold shiver ran down her spine. She couldn't fight him off, she lay still, helplessly, devastated. She didn't know why she couldn't move for so long, Luciano's actions paralized her and she couldn't understand the reason behind it. Even though she was cold, his lips were surprisingly warm and so were his hands.

She noticed the way he was staring straight into her eyes, curiously, trying to read her thoughts. She felt her muscles slowly loosen as he slowly let go of one of her wrists and brought his hand up to her forehead and gently ran his fingers through her hair. She shut her eyes tightly and grabbed his forearm. She wanted to push him off but she could do nothing more than that.  The next moment his fingers lightly caressed her cheek before he pulled back.

"See, it wasn't that bad," he said softly with a gentle smile and loosened his grip on her wrist. She took this chance to try to finally get rid of him and throw another punch but he was one step further again and backed off before she could reach him.

"Alright, that was enough for tonight." Luciano stood up and offered her his hand but she ignored it, she didn't want to lose any more of her dignity. She rose as well and crossed her arms.

"Cara, don't sulk now," he cooed with an arrogant smile. "You did great. Can't wait to play with you again. Maybe you'll beat me next time."

She didn't need to see him out. He left and she could be in peace again. But she didn't sleep that night.
